www.cinedoc.ru 1 h 34 min
What? How? Why? What makes us ask all those questions? What makes us dream?
Vixen academy: how to be a bitch? (Alina Rudnitskaya, 2007)
There was a time when the word “a bitch” was perceived as a negative one. But today it has become a bestseller. A bitch has become a kind of an ideal to a modern woman, a real hero of our days. Who is a vixen, modern bitch? How to become a successful woman? What does it mean to be a woman? The main shooting technique is a method of observation. This film pretends to be called “the best documentary comedy” about women.
When I win a million… (Anna Dranitsina, 2008)
Dimon, the character of the film, finds out that "a Russian Las-Vegas" is going to be opened in Altai soon and decides to start up his own business. He buys a slot machine and brings it to Altai region. On his way he stops by in villages and tries to make the locals get used to gambling. The villagers tell what they would do if they won a million.
Game is over (Anna Dranitsina, 2006)
The film tells about the lives of heroes of the very first Russian reality show “Behind the glass”. Young people went to a movie casting but got locked in a glass house for 6 weeks. According to a contract they had to pay 5000$ penalty to get out of show. An exiting adventure turned out to be a psychological shock for the heroes.

An artist and a publisher Michael Karasik presents animated versions of two books by L Lisitsky: «The Suprematic Story About Two Squares In Six Construstions» and «RKKA. Worker-farmers Red Army»
45 min
Michael Karasik about his movies: «They are united by ideological contents, but divided by times. «The Story About Two Squares» is drawn and abstract. It is made for children. And the «RKKA» is made for adults. Its means are concrete and documental – these are photos of the best photographers of 1930`s. After the release of «The Story About Two Squares» in Berlin in 1922, Lisitsky wanted to make an animated movie out of 16 paged book. Our movie is limited by that material, which determined its length of 4 minutes. «RKKA» is relatively long – 30 minutes, because it is based upon a volume of photographs, resembling a documentary. Both movies are presented by the authors – Michael Karasik and Irina Karpova. |

OPEN CINEMA Club presents early works of Irina Evteeva (director of experimental animation films): «A horse, a violin and a little bit clutchy», «Elixir» and «Clown».
90 min
A director, an artist and a script writer Irina Evteeva works in a field where cinematography meets animation. Real actors are starring in her «cartoons» and real people recognize themselves in animated characters.
Her first animated movie «A horse, a violin and a little bit clutchy» (1991) is dedicated to Vladimir Mayakovsky. It is not a screen adaptation of the favourite poems or an anthology. Most likely a door in poet`s world.
«Clown» is based upon the real show: «Snow show» by Slava Polunin. It is an animated fantasy about human loneliness, mysterious and sorrowful deepness of a Clown.
The third part of a program – «Elixir» (1995) – a philosophic proverb based on Hoffmann`s tales. It tells us about world of illusion, filled with flamy salamanders and black dragons.
The author is presented by PR-coordinator of OPEN CINEMA Club Alexandra Dunaeva.
